Meet the Recruiters-Review

Updated: Feb 26

Caitlin Manuel, Events Marketing Intern for Phase2Careers

As “Meet the Recruiters” continues to connect job seekers with professional recruiters each month, longtime HR professional Ann Greenhaw sees it as far more than a panel discussion, she sees it as a rare opportunity to connect, learn, and regain confidence in today’s job market.

Ann's own professional journey is a testament to resilience and reinvention. She began working for an attorney while attending San Francisco State University. When he became a Superior Court judge, she continued building her experience, working at a law firm and later at DuPont.

After moving to the Peninsula and taking time off to raise her children, Ann found herself ready to reenter the workforce in the 1970s. A part-time hostess role at a small restaurant quickly evolved into a management position. There, she discovered her passion for human resources through recruiting, managing staff, and helping people grow. She spent 14 years in the food service industry before making another bold change in her 40s, applying for a receptionist role at Franklin Templeton.

That leap paid off. She soon transitioned from receptionist into employee relations, becoming part of a global investment firm that began in San Mateo and has since expanded worldwide. Franklin Templeton manages private investments, retirement accounts such as 401(k)s, and serves clients across multiple continents. Ann describes the company culture as mentoring and nurturing. A company that works hard to preserve a “family feel” even as it has grown to multiple locations around the world. At Franklin Templeton, you will find opportunities there that vary in corporate functions, investment services, client relations, operations, and HR.

Ann later became connected with Phase2Careers through professional networks. Her manager at Franklin Templeton knew Ron Visconti, and the introduction led her to support an organization whose mission she calls “valuable and important.

” Helping experienced professionals relaunch their careers aligned perfectly with her own story.

That spirit is at the heart of “Meet the Recruiters.

The program features a panel of recruiters who discuss the current job market, hiring trends, resume strategies, and what companies are really looking for today. Participants hear directly from industry professionals representing diverse sectors from finance and corporate services to technology, operations, and beyond.

What makes this program unique is access. Job seekers rarely get the chance to sit in front of multiple recruiters in one setting, ask candid questions, and gain honest feedback. It’s not just a presentation, but it’s a conversation. Attendees can network, learn how to position themselves effectively, and understand how the hiring landscape is evolving.

Ann believes the impact is both practical and personal. “It encourages people,

” she says. “It reminds them how much they have to offer.

” In a competitive job market, that confidence can be just as important

as a polished resume.

The event is open to anyone actively seeking employment or considering a career shift, whether early in their search or looking to refresh their strategy. While it’s offered monthly and welcomes new faces each time, attendees are encouraged not to rely on repeated visits alone. The real value lies in using what you learn, expanding your network, and continuing to build connections with different companies represented each session.

If you’re navigating today’s job market, the monthly “Meet the Recruiters” panel offers more than

information, it offers insight, access, and renewed momentum.
